The minimum salary offered for this position is £45,000 pa however the client may pay up to £60,000 pa to those candidates who can meet all key qualifications and abilities

Our client is a privately owned leading manufacturer seeking a Senior Production Manager to join their team. As a Senior Production Manager, you will lead the Manufacturing / production process and support the Operations Director in the daily management of on-site operations making sure the business functions efficiently as well as to effectively help deliver the needs and demands of their customers.

The role includes leading the technical and quality aspects of their operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of manufacturing and engineering principles, processes, and systems. Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development and a record of positive change within a traditional manufacturing environment as well as with partners suppliers externally. Your general knowledge of a modern ERP system will be strong combined with previously gained skills in production job management and its associated ERP processes.

This role is key to the continued improvement and development of the manufacturing process, ultimately delivering excellent customer service and outstanding stock availability to support the continued growth of the business.

Manage and oversee the production/assembly departments, leading a continuous improvement culture ensuring that processes are reviewed, adhered to and products are manufactured to the highest possible quality, on time and to meet and exceed customer expectations. Identifying and eliminating non-optimal working practices, implementing new ways of working to increase capacity effectively.

Daily management of the production team ensuring a multi-skilled diverse workforce is in operation, creating a succession plan for the passing of skills and the safeguarding of past, present and future processes and systems.

Become a leading exponent of components, assisting with the development of new product initiatives, championing new products through their inception, design and manufacture.

Manage & lead the UK based Quality & Technical Team, ensuring focus is given to continual improvement. Including but not limited to; customer technical support, planning, implementation and management of product and component audits for manufactured and imported fittings. implementing preventative and corrective actions, team review, progress, and suggested development.

Troubleshoot daily / weekly product shortages to do the best they can to ensure the swiftest resolution by both internal and external solutions.

Possess a strong knowledge and understanding of ERP methods of manufacturing, bill of materials, component stock levels and re-ordering process to support maximum stock availability on UK manufactured and assembled fittings.

Provide knowledgeable support to the company Health and Safety policy and compliance, supporting a small team with risk assessments, policy update or any other associated task as required.

Play a supporting role in the company ISO9001 on-going accreditation, participating in monthly management meetings and progressing agreed actions with a potential to become internally qualified auditor.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Previous Production Management skills and experience essential. Proven track record within a production / engineering environment, possessing knowledge, understanding and history of continual improvement methodology.

Engineering or mechanical background with relevant qualification

5+ years experience in a Production Management role

Knowledge of lean and six sigma continual improvement methodology beneficial

Experience with a range of manufacturing processes such as assembly, precision engineering, fabrication, painting, wiring

Excellent working knowledge of a current ERP system, preferably including sales, production, supply chain, logistics and warehouse management components.
